ALEKSEY KOZLOVSKY

(1905-1976)

People’s artist of Uzbekistan, professor, composer and conductor A.Kozlovsky, with bright creative, pedagogical and public activities, made a huge contribution to the development of music culture of the 20th century. The symphonic, vocal-symphonic, musical performances created by him are among the masterpieces of modern classical art of our republic. Among the creators of Russian nationality, his life and creative work was served by sidqi dildan as one of the first composers dedicated to the development of Uzbek musical culture.

Kozlovsky Alexei Fedorovich was born in Kiev City on October 15, 1905 in a family of intellectuals. In 1916 he studied at the gymnasium, and then at the preparatory department of the Kiev Conservatory.L.Yavorsky begins to learn piano and composition in his class. In 1927, he graduated from the music Technical School and entered the Faculty of composition of the Moscow Conservatory. In 1931, he wrote his diploma work for the large Symphony Orchestra, the “Uvertyura of Kashramon”, and graduated from the conservatory. In connection with the formation of the Tashkent State Conservatory in 1936, A.V.At the call of Lunacharsky moved to Tashkent with his family.

From the day of their arrival in Tashkent, they began to get acquainted with Uzbek intellectuals and Uzbek music and literature. They are also used in their work by recording more than 300 songs, songs and tunes on notes from hofiz and Darwesh, who have exhibited their art at weddings, tea houses. From 1938-1977 he taught composition, Polyphony, instrumentation, conducting at the conservatory. The composer would go on to become head of the instrumentation departments. In addition to his pedagogical work at the conservatory, he worked at the Uzbek opera and Ballet Theater in 1938-1948 as conductor and music consultant, and during 1949-1965 as artistic director and chief conductor of the Symphony Orchestra under the Uzbek State Philharmonic.

His 1937 Farghona suite “Lola” in three movements for Symphony Orchestra was his first work. Of the folk songs popular in the performance of Halima Nazirova that year, four poems, “Tanavor”, “rose on the face”, “Figon” and “the other way around”, reworked for Symphony Orchestra, brought admiration to the composer.

A.F.Among Kozlovsky’s works written by teatruchun, G.The Opera “Ulugbek”, based on a libretto by Gerus-Kozlovskaya, was performed in 1942 (second cycle 1958.) and the ballet “Tanovar” (1971.) saw the face of the stage.

A.F.With his pedagogical work, Kozlovsky showed enthusiasm in the preparation of composers and conductors.
