YAN PECKER

(1906-1993)

Art figure, proffessor, public figure, musicologist Pekker Yakov-Yan Borisovich, who served in Uzbekistan, left a bright mark on the history of Uzbek music of the 20th century. He received great respect by diligently serving in solving the problems and contradictions born in the development process of modern Uzbek musical art, educating young Uzbek composers and musicologists, promoting the art of music, protecting the art of national status.

Pekker Yakov-Yan Borisovich graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1936 and came to work at the newly formed Tashkent State Conservatory, based on the Order of the people’s Māori. In addition to teaching at the conservatory, he was appointed to the position of artistic director at the radio committee of Uzbekistan. Having become closely acquainted with the figures of Uzbek literature and musical art in this dargah, he decided to work in Tashkent for the rest of his life.

In 1941, Ya.B.Pecker quit radio and took up teaching and scientific work.In 1944-1948 he was appointed to the position of artistic director of the Uzbek State Philharmonic. The director of the Philharmonic is M. Together with koriyokubov revitalized the activities of all performance teams. The lectionary department was established, and the promotion of the music of the Uzbek and World peoples was well established. Especially Ya.B.The lectures Baker read would have been very interesting, to the applause of thousands of music fans.

Pegger Ya.B. pedagogy and leadership, along with labor activity, also engaged in scientific work. He tries to explore the history of the Uzbek people’s past, culture and art, literature and the creations of its figures. Modern Uzbek studies the development process of musical art. Articles on various topics and problems of art are published in the press and in music-encyclopedias.

Yan Pekker people’s artist of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, composer and ethnographer V.A.Uspensky wrote a monograph on his life and creative work, this book was published twice in Russian in 1952, 1959, and in Uzbek in Tashkent in 1952. In 1966, in an out-of-print work, the artist who served in Uzbekistan was G.A.Mushel’s life and creative work are covered. Based on his candidate thesis, which he defended on the topic” Uzbek Opera“, in 1963 The Book” Uzbek opera “was published in Moscow at the publishing house” music”. The author revisited this book, analysed the newly cast operas, and reprinted them in Moscow in 1984.

Member of the Union of composers of Uzbekistan since 1942, musicologist scientist Ya.B.Pekker was awarded the honorary title of’ Honored Artist of Uzbekistan ” in 1956, for his services in the development of contemporary musical art of the Republic.
