The Department of String Instruments dates back to the founding of the Tashkent State Conservatory. Outstanding musicians – teachers and accompanists, who at different times made a great contribution to the development of local and world performing arts, worked at the department. The names of many teachers who worked at the conservatory are included in the golden fund of the performing and pedagogical art of our country. Among them are G. G. Bostrem (cello), N. E. The teaching staff of the department introduces innovative teaching methods, develops new methodological literature, masters the modern repertoire. Students attend master classes by leading teachers.               Creative student groups have been formed and are successfully    working at the department, which includes almost all students: the performances of string quartets of the department always reflect important events in the cultural life of the republic, concerts are always very warmly received by the public.
