The Department of Wind Instruments has been functioning since the beginning of the existence of the Tashkent State Conservatory. A huge contribution to its development in different years was made by a famous musician, a prominent musical and public figure V.I. Pavlonsky (1881-1951), B.N.Gusakov, V.M. Kozalupov, M.N. Nikolaenko, A.E. Morozov (1889-1969), as well as teacher of the percussion department M.D. Yakovets.

In subsequent years, such outstanding musicians as U. Ruzikulov, K.A. Azimov, V. Emelyanov, P.I. Belyakov, G.K. Vergelesov, A.V. Malkeev, V.L. Melkomini, Y. Saidjanov, R.R. Safarov, V.A. Verigr, B.S. Salikhov, N.E. Kenjabaev, U. Abdullaev, D.S. Saburov, I.T. Ganiev and many others.
