Chamber Music

The Department of Chamber Music was founded in 1948 by an outstanding organist, pianist and musicologist, Professor A. N. Kotlyarevsky, who became its first head.  Such outstanding musicians as professors N.M. Yablonsky (piano), T.M. Kotlyarevskaya (piano), associate professors A.S. Vvedenisky (cello), S.I. Weiss (viola), S.P.  Galyanova (piano), Yu.S. Mikhailovskaya (piano), S. V. Kagantseva (piano).  The department also had a direction “Chamber singing”.

Over the years of the department’s existence, outstanding musicians – students and teachers of the department conducted a very active concert activity, during which an impressive number of works by composers of different eras, styles and trends were performed (including for the first time).  Many of the concerts and monographic evenings made such a great impression on the audience that they remain in their memory to this day, evoking pleasant emotions.

In order to further optimize the improvement of the educational process, in 2010, by the decision of the Academic Council of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, two departments with their rich pedagogical traditions and heritage merged into one, which was named the Department of Chamber Music and Accompaniment Mastery.

In 2020, the Department of Chamber Music was separated from the Department of Accompaniment Mastery.
