IGOR STRAVINSKY

(1882—1971)

Composer Igor Fedorovich Stravinsky was born on June 17, 1882 in Oranienbaum (now the city of Lomonosov) to the famous opera singer F. I. Stravinsky is born into a family. Nevertheless, he did not intend to become a musician, and in 1900 he entered the Faculty of Law of St. Petersburg University. In 1945, he wrote “The Black concert”for a clarinet and jazz group.

Stravinsky’s creative legacy is enormous: 4 operas, 12 ballets, cantatas, symphonies, concerts, choirs, etc. He is considered one of the most important reformers of 20th century music. He died in New York City on April 6, 1971.
