Doni Zakirov
(1914-1985)
Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, people’s artist of Uzbekistan, honored composer Doni Zokirov was born on October 28, 1914 in the city of Samarkand. From 1928 he learned to play folk instruments. In 1936 he moved to Tashkent, where he worked as a soloist in the ensemble of Uzbek folk instruments under the Philharmonic. And in 1937, with this ensemble, the composition takes part in the decadal of Uzbek literature and art held in Moscow. Since 1949, he has a career as a conductor in the musical drama and comedy theater named after Muqimi. In 1953, he graduated from the Faculty of composition of the Tashkent State Conservatory with a B. B. Nadezhdin, A. Kozlovsky, Yu. N. Graduated in Tyulin classes. The period of study is harmonized with work as a conductor in the orchestra of folk instruments under the Broadcasting Committee.
Doni Zakirov leads the singing and dancing ensemble of the Uzbek Philharmonic during the period 1953-1956, from 1957 to the end of his life the conductor of the orchestra of folk instruments under the Broadcasting Company works. In 1989, the community in question was named after Doni Zokirov. The outstanding composer and conductor has been awarded many awards of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
