BORBAD MARWAZI

Borbad, a great central Asian artist, singer, musician and composer, the founder of masterful classical music, was born around the 80s of the 6th century AD. According to the available sources, he settled in Marv, considered one of the ancient and central cities of Khorasan, but was not born here. It is estimated that the artist’s birthplace was Niso, a town in the northern part of Khorasan, between mountain and desert. This is what the sources know that Borbad received the science of music in Marv and, as early as his boyhood, el had time to get into his mouth. According to existing historical-literary sources, Borbad was the most talented and brilliant artist of the palace of khusrav Parvez, the ruler of the Sassanids. That is, during the years 590-628, the creative and executive activities of Borbad have developed here.

There is little biographical information about Borbad. Most written sources give different accounts. But nevertheless, the general picture of Borbad life exists, albeit short. It is assumed that” Borbad ” was a pseudonym, a name given to the artist at the court of Khusrav Parvez II. Borbad’s real name is Falakhbod Marvazi.

According to classical Persian-Tajik dictionaries: “Farhangi Dehkhudo”, “Farhangi Rashidi”, “Farhangi Burhoni Qote”, “Farhangi Onandiroch”, Borbad is the author of 360 tunes. Abulkosim Firdavsiy and Abu Mansur Saolabi: Borbad’s musical oeuvre is also attributed to the works named “Sabzandaroz”, “Partavi Farkhor”, “Paykorgurd”, “Yazdonofarid”. The musical-theoretical heritage of the artist as a whole is recorded in a number of brochures created during the IX-XVIII centuries. In particular, the borbad pen belonged to the” Khusrawani”, 30 lahn, and 360 songs. These songs were performed on a specific day of the year. This” musical yearbook ” in its place is divided into 12 musical circles. And 12 rounds are 12 months. Each round consists of 30 pieces, separated by genre and form aspects.
