About the department

One of the main goals and tasks of the department is the in-depth study of the theory and practice of musical education and the research of methodological issues, which forms the basis of the fundamental base of the Uzbekistan State Conservatory in the field of music pedagogy.
In 1988, the department was formed as “Scientific Foundations of Music Education (MTIA)”, and since 1997, the department has been called “Music Pedagogy”. In 2002, this prompted the opening of the undergraduate education course in the new direction of “Music Education” at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. One of the main elements of the activity of the department is the preparation of graduates of the conservatory for pedagogical activities, the formation of pedagogical knowledge and skills and qualifications. 2002 was one of the main periods of development of higher music pedagogy in the history of the department. The first contingent of students in the direction “5111100 – Music Education” was formed at the new base of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, which meets the requirements of the times.

The main goal of this course is to train highly qualified specialists in pedagogy and children’s music education at the special music base of the Uzbekistan State Conservatory. With the efforts of the pedagogues of the department, educational manuals and textbooks on subjects were published based on the new requirements of the State Education Standard. For example, D. Murodova, Z. Karimova, R. Kadirov, D. Saipova, L. Ganieva, M. Akhmedov, O. Ivanov published new teaching manuals and methodological works on pedagogical subjects. In particular, the books “Music Pedagogy” (2009) and “Music Psychology” (2005) by professor R. Kadyrov were accepted as the main manuals in the republic’s music education centers.
In addition, Associate Professor D. Saipova’s “Theory and Methodology of Music Education” (2012) won the third place in the “Best Textbook of the Year” Republican competition and gained importance as an important methodological guide. S. Galiskaya, T. Solomonova, V. Srajev, D. Hoshimova, (N. Ryjkova), G. Musina, T. Zimina, M. Artishevskaya contributed a lot to the development of music education in the republic. Experienced specialists of the department are responsible for pedagogical practice activities. For many years, our pedagogues – M. Artishevskaya, D. Yunusova, and now G. Kurbanova have been managing the practice department.

“Measures to further develop and improve the activities of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan” approved by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-3178 dated August 8, 2017 In addition to the main quota of the conservatory according to the program of events, starting from the 2018/2019 academic year, the quota for the training of pedagogues for children’s music and art schools will be purposefully formed in the regions after studying the needs and demands of the real sector of the economy. tasks are defined.
The department “Training of pedagogues of vocal and instrumental performance” was established in the academic year 2018-2019, and its activities are 5111100 – Vocational education: 5150600 – Vocal art (by types) and 5150700 – Musical performance (by types) began on the basis of educational directions.
From November 1, 2021, on the basis of the order No. 98-AF of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, the “Musical Pedagogy” department was established on the basis of the “Vocal and Instrumental Performance Pedagogy” and “Musical Pedagogy” departments.

As of this year, 3 professors, 6 candidates of science, associate professors, 11 senior teachers, 7 teachers and 1 cabinet manager are working in the department.
“Music pedagogy” department of the general conservatory in the fields of education such as “Music pedagogy and psychology”, “Professional pedagogy”, “Methodology of teaching musical-theoretical subjects”, “Methodology of educational work”, “Psychology of youth” is the main department for teaching subjects.
“Vocal performance (by types)”, “Vocal ensemble”, “School repertoire” from practical and individual subjects in vocal art (by types) and musical performance (by types) learning”, “Methodology of teaching singing”, “Team performance methodology”, “Innovative organization of school repertoire”, “Instrumental performance (by types)”, “Ensemble (by types)” and “Family such subjects as “learning musical instruments” are studied.

In the curriculum of the “Professional education (by types)” department of “Musical pedagogy”, subjects (ensemble class) are conducted in groups (small groups), and specialized subjects are mainly conducted as a type of individual training. . Information and communication, innovative and modern pedagogical technologies are used in the lessons.
There are 10 classrooms for students studying in this field of study, a separate hall for taking ON and YAN, and 4 tutoring rooms for students to study independently. The rooms are equipped with 4 grand pianos and 12 pianos.

The “Music Pedagogy” department is part of the “Music Pedagogy” faculty of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

The department is actively engaged in the training of young researchers. Doctoral students conduct scientific research for the defense of a doctoral dissertation (PhD). In particular, G. Igamberdieva “Formirovanie detskogo fortepiannogo repertory (na primere proizvedeniy kompozitorov Uzbekistana). On the topic of “Problems and Perspectives”, U. Isaev on the topic of “Improving Conducting Competence of Future Music Teachers”, and A. Toirov on the topic of “Pedagogical Foundations of Developing Artistic and Creative Skills of Future Music Teachers” are conducting research work on their PhD dissertation.

In 1988 the department was formed as “Scientific Foundations of Music Education”, since 1997 the department was named “Music Pedagogy”.  This led to the opening in 2002 of a bachelor’s degree in a new direction “Music Education” at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.  One of the main elements of the department’s activity is the preparation of graduates of the conservatory for pedagogical activity, the formation of pedagogical knowledge and skills.  In 2002, in the history of the department, the republic became one of the key periods in the development of Higher Musical Pedagogy.  In the new State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, the first contingent of students in the direction of “Music Education” was formed, which meets the requirements of the time.

The main goal of this direction is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of pedagogy, music education and upbringing on the basis of a special musical base of the Uzbek State Conservatory.  Through the efforts of the teachers of the department, textbooks on subjects were published based on the new requirements of the state educational standard.  D. Murodova, Z. Karimova, R. Kodirov, D. Soipova, L. Ganieva, M. Akhmedov, O. Ivanov published new textbooks and teaching materials on pedagogical sciences.  In particular, the books of Professor R. Kadyrov “Musical Pedagogy” and “Musical Psychology” were adopted as the main reference books in the republican musical educational institutions.

In addition, the textbook created by Associate Professor D. Soipova “Theory and Methods of Music and Pedagogy” (2012) was recognized as the “Best Book of the Year” of the republican competition. Such specialists as S. Galitsky, T. Solomonova, V.  Srazhev, D. Hoshimova, N. Ryzhkova, G. Musina, T. Zimina, M. Artishevskaya.  Responsibility for teaching activities rests with the experienced specialists of the department.  For many years, our teachers M. Artishevskaya, D. Yunusova and G. Gurbanova have led the teaching practice.

The Department of “Musical Pedagogy” creates the necessary conditions for familiarization with all aspects of pedagogy and practice of students of all directions and specialties of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.
