Muxitdin Kori Yokubov

       Singer (baritone), theatrical figure, one of the founders of the Uzbek musical theater.The first folk singer of Turkestan.People’s artist of özssr (1936).Graduated from the vocal Department of Gitis (1922-24).Began his theatrical career. Activities associated with the establishment of the Fergana folk instrument orchestra (1919) (1919) H. Along with Hamza, he participated in the”Muslim youth dramatic troupe ” in 1918. In 1918-21 he took part in the fronts. He performed Uzbek folk songs at the 1925 World’s fair in Paris and Berlin. In the performances of the” political troupe ” H.Hamza acted as a dramatic actor. In 1926, he founded the concert-ethnographic ensemble, which later became the seat of the Uzbek musical theater.

       He participated in the organization of musical theaters in Tashkent, Andijan, Kokand. Founder and artistic director of the Uzbek musical theater(1926), (1929-39), (46-50) director, artistic director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Uzbekistan from (1932). Soloist of the Uzbek opera and Ballet Theater (1939-47).Among the roles performed were: Sultanbek (”Arshin mal-alan ” U.Hajibekov), Khosrav (“Farhad and Shirin”, Uspensky and Mushel), Naufal (“Layli”). and Majnun”, R. Glier and T. Sadigov, Ulugbek (”Ulugbek ” A. Kozlovsky), Mahmud Tarabi (“Mahmud Tarabi” O. Chishko), Er Targin (“E. Brusilovsky “Er Targin”), Governor-General (“Storm” M. Ashrafi, S. Vasilenko). Awarded with the order of the red banner of Labor and medals.M.The name Kori-Yakubov was given to the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan.By decree of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2000. Mukhitdin Qori-Yakubov was awarded the order of Merit, the Academy of folk songs and dance and a street in Tashkent were named after him. Burial place: Chigatoy memorial Cemetery.
