In the year of opening (1936) of the Tashkent State Conservatory, the department “Special piano” was created, which included a department of the class of concertmaster. In 1970, in order to improve the educational process, the department of “Concertmaster Skills” was organized.
A great contribution to the development of the art of accompaniment and teaching of accompanist mastery was made by outstanding pedagogues-musicians of their time such as professors A.B. Meerovich, A.N.Kotlyarevsky, L.A. Malmberg, Yu.S. Mikhailovskaya and S.V. Kagantseva.
The staff of the department is proud of its professional pedagogical and performing traditions, creative potential. Teachers and students of the department were repeatedly awarded with diplomas “The best accompanist” at republican and international competitions and festivals, became the owners of the State Prize “Tasanno”.
The teachers of the department take an active part in the concert life of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. They are fruitfully and consistently engaged in educational and educational-methodical work related to the problems of accompanist performance. Take an active part in the work of scientific and practical conferences of the Republican and International scale.
The graduates of the department carry the knowledge they have received with dignity; they successfully work as accompanists and instructors of the accompanist class in higher and secondary specialized musical educational institutions. At the Republican and International competitions and festivals they are awarded with the Diplomas “The best accompanist”. The Department of Concertmaster Skills considers the upbringing of a harmoniously developed personality of a professional accompanist, musician, citizen of his country as its primary task.
