YOUNG SCIENTISTS FROM THE STATE CONSERVATORY OF UZBEKISTAN  UNDERTAKING INTERNSHIPAND RESEARCHTRAINING

From July 18 to August 15, 2019, young academicians  from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, GanikhanovaShoyistaSharafutdinovnaand AtamullaevaFeruzaRakhmatullaevna(associate professors of the Department of “Music History and Criticism”), undergo a short-term research internship on the program of “Innovative Research: Theory, Methodology, Practice” in the Institute of Advanced Retraining Studies of Belarusian State Pedagogical University.

The interns’supervisor is Natalia V. Bychkova, associate professor at the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching of Art, Belarusian State Pedagogical University, Candidate of Art History.

On July 22, within the framework of the academic internship program, a round table was held for our fellow interns with the elements of practical lesson on the topic “Research Competences: a set of tools for a scientist and teacher” (lecturer – Strelkova Irina Borisovna, Associate Professor of Management and Educational Technologies, Ph.D. pedagogical sciences).

During this event, the interns got acquainted with useful services for working with information, including: a subscription to electronic mailings (scientific journals, publishing houses of scientific literature, etc.); content curators – services for tracking, collecting and organizing information by topics of interest to the researcher; Google services for individual and collaborative research activities; bibliographic managers (bibliographic information services – citation manager ZOTERO, etc.).

In addition, our colleagues got acquainted with the knowhow of creating electronic educational and methodical complexes (EEMK) on various software platforms; they saw the possibilities and advantages of Help & Manual and Mindjet MindManager software platforms for creating EEMK and structuring information when working on theses research.

In the second half of the day, the young scientists from the Republic of Uzbekistan took an introductory excursion to the National Library of Belarus (NLB). Our colleagues signed up for the library and received library cards (valid for 5 years). They also acquainted with the information about the construction and the grand opening of the new building of the NBB in 2016. Among others, the interns visited the Museum of the book, received consultations on the work in the scientific reading room for candidates and doctors of science, in the dissertations hall and in the reference information department.

For the interns, a master class was conducted on how to search primary and advanced information in the library’s manualcard and electronic catalogs, in full-text foreign databases, access to which is provided to all readers of the National Library of Belarus.
